secrets for the best man speech

Maybe It's Time To Look For Somebody Else?

I have given the best man speech at two different weddings. Here are some pointers to help your best man speeches get the crown wild and loud. First, you need a shocking opener that grabs every one’s attention and pulls them quickly into the speech. Sometimes you want a funny one, sometimes you want a sentimental opener that almost makes people cry. I tell my clients to write a blend, of funny and serious comedy that engages everyone. You should praise the Bride and Groom with a few memories. Don’t eat too much cake and practice your speech in the mirror for three hours prior as well. Use a lot of one-liners in your best man speech. I have noticed that the Bride and Groom react better to one-liners than lots of romantic story telling. Keep your speech less than four minutes in length. You don’t want to put your audience to sleep but need enough time to develop your ideas and interesting facts about the Groom. Best man speeches can be tearjerkers, but yours doesn’t have to be. Instead, try to add as many appropriate jokes as possible. Really nail the Groom to the wall with some funny stuff, but remember to keep it appropriate for all ages.
