My husband and i are both interested in doing perhaps a bus tour of ireland. we won't be able to afford this for the next few years, but it's nice to plan ahead and look forward to something. i wouldn't mind seeing england, ireland, and scotland. friends of ours did this last summer, and really enjoyed it. can anyone recomend a bus tour that includes these places? what did you like, not like about your tour. also i would like to avoid 'party tours' like contiki etc. we are young (20 and 23) but would prefer to be on a tour that is geared to an older age group… also did you find the prices to be reasnable, etc. what was included? what would you recomend seeing if you were to go back etc… we are from Canada. thanks

My wife and I just toured Ireland in November of 2008. We used CIE tours which as I understood it is a Government agency basicly the same as the DOT in the U.S. Our package was pretty much all inclusive including meals, hotels (all very nice) and airfare. The only thing we had to pay for was lunches and any souveniers we wanted. I would highly recommend it. And they have a variety of packages to fit just about anyone needs.

A must go to place to eat is eddie's rockets in dublin. It rocks!

Trust me I am a doctor? Well thank god your not a travel agent, from reading the question, I'd say eating bbq goat and getting drunk on cheap Greek wine, while getting fried on a beach may not be exactly what these people are looking for!
I am afraid I cannot give you any information about specific tours, as I am from, and live, here in Ireland. All I can tell you is make sure to visit the UK and Ireland both are fantastic destinations with much to so offer in the line of history, sight seeing and culture. It does raining quite a lot in Ireland to be fair to the Doctor, certainly not everyday, and not to visit Ireland because of the chance it may be raining a couple of days would be madness.
Enjoy your trip.

Sorry but if you are 20 and 23 why would you want a bus tour geared towards "older age group" and why Ireland? For goodness sake get yourselves a sun holiday and live it up before you have kids, you'll never do it when you have them, you have no life for 16 years basically.

I live in Ireland, its great but it rains all the time and all the coach tours I see are full of fuddy duddies, I'm not far from Killarney and the Ring of Kerry.

When I was 20 I jumped on a plane with no planning and went Island hopping in Greece, spent days snorkelling and sunbathing on a beach with my husband to be, eating BBQd goat and getting pissed on cheap Greek wine. Happy days.

Hey
Make sure you visit the Giant causeway in Northern Ireland.

Here's a youtube video of places in Britain http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8ZgbYqX_a…
Nearly all of the places there are from England, but some places from Scotland, wales and Northern ireland.

If you got to London which you MUST! London has Buckingham palace, Houses of Parliament, Big Ben, London eye, Tower of London (which is where many famous people were killed) Shakespeare glob theater, Westminster's abby, and st Paul's cathedral, right next to London you have to see Windsor castle also! Windsor castle is the largest occupied castle in the world and looks great and has history all over it!
The White cliffs of Dover! (all these places are in England though)
Visit Edinburgh too, there you can see Edinburgh castle and its a nice city too.

Most the places are in England though, i would definatly recomend going to England more then Ireland, but wile your in England you could always get a ferry to visit Ireland for a few days. Ireland is still nice though.
Some cities you might want to visit in England are
London
Liverpool
Bath (Roman city with roman baths there, wich is how it got its made)
Dover (so you can see the white cliffs of dover wich are a must see)
York (nice old city with old medevil walls going around it)
You might want to see stonhenge too? Wich is in the south of England somwhere.
and much much more! :D

Lots of places! Lots lots lots of places too see! If you see a place in the video you like the look of but don't know where it is, just email me and ill tell ya. :]
Also, if you want to know any more places just ask :D

There are tons of places to see!
