I live in a area full of east africans, more spefically somalis.
I feel very attracted to them, for they have a unique look about them, shy and gentle disporsa, and have cute accents :)

However do somalis have a postive view on african americans?
would they mind dating a black man?

It depends on the person. The majority of Somalis tend to be Muslim and family-oriented. About 99% of Somalis within Somalia are Muslim. About 90% of Somalis outside of Somalia are estimated to be Muslim. So if you're Muslim and family-oriented you have a better chance. But some Somalis do tend to avoid intermarriage with people who are non-Somali and/or non-Muslim. Many wouldn't even marry a Somali from another clan. You need to find an open-minded Somali girl. There is a couple I know where the wife is Somali and the husband is African-American and Muslim. They have the cutest daughter together. It can happen but focus on the girl's personality, that's how you can determine if she's accepting and the right one for you.

Somalis generally do not have a postive view on african americans, b/c we seem to think that all blacks are ghetto and lazy which is simply not true. Dating is looked down upon our culture as well, for the majority of us are muslims.
But more somali women are starting to date due to westernization and I know lots of them are interested in black guys for the exocticness and the thrill :)
just go for it.

it's in dating black guys, generally for african girls anyway, to defy their parents.

somalians are black africans as well so i dont think the race is the issue

i think alot of africans have a deep fear of black americans as well as white americans because they view americans as violent, extremists, and crazy people. that is why they mostly keep to themselves and to other africans.
so nope your chances of dating a somalian are slim to none

Just be nice to a girl. I'm not Somali, but girls do give nice guys a chance.

edit: Deeyanna, I know you were being honest-you didn't say anything that surprised or offended me. You do the guy no favors leading him on, anyway (so I'm saying it is decent of you to not lie to this poster by telling him that he has a good chance with Somali women).

I don't know that anyone's ever bothered to study this enough to get statistics.
