Ok,I'm really tired of how ignorant some
black people can be. About 90% of the blacks think
that lighter skinned blacks are better,and look better. Now I wanna know from a white persons point of view..I wanna know if you think this
whole thing is just plain stupid,because were all black, or if you agree,and why?

Yes, I think it's old and ignorant. However, you might be more understanding of it if you looked into why and how it got started and was perpetuated through the decades. There were many reasons. Check it out.

Government says 1/3 is concidered black and have had my best black buddy who is concidered black but part indian say he was treated differently because of his light skinn and have heard black comedians make fun of darker blacks as being burnt or fresh off the boat if you are asking me what I think looks best cause I am very white I think a Korean Black mix looks the best.

White folk don't put a high priority on a person's "shade" as much as those within the sub culture do. In fact, most whites I know don't even care…I'm a mix of a lot different races and I think it is very very stupid and extremely racist. It goes to prove that everyone has a racist mentality, even those who are victims of it.

PS – This isn't a stupid question at all. This is a serious issue in the african-american community. I've been curious about it since I found out about some time ago and am curious to see what others here say…

i am a white male raised in the 60`s on a tobacco farm so i have known many blacks in my life as employees and as friends. the short answer to your question is that from what i have observed i say that yes lighter colored blacks where i live get a little more respect than dark. i don`t know why but thats what i have seen.

I'm generally not attracted to black girls. It's not that I'm racist, I just pretty much only like white girls and oriental girls. But if I had to pick a black girl, I'd pick a lighter skinned one over a darker skinned girl.

Well isn't a black person thinking that someone light-skinned is "better" racism?
I'm white and I don't care…..Where are you getting this information from? Surely all Black people don't feel the same.
But honestly I think its down to personal opinion, I for example am "very" white and would prefer to have darker skin as I feel it would look prettier but at the same time I don't think that Sallow people are better than me…

Is it really 90% I don't think it is because you see all different kind of black people with all different kind of black people. It doesn't matter what color geez how old does one have to be to learn this lesson?

I think were all people. Seriously, your doing what whites did to blacks years ago. Why fight over who is better based on skin, were all people– whites, blacks, molatos(light blacks), yellow(asians), or whatever you call someone. all equal, all human.

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. People cant help what they find attractive, so chill out. Some will like light skinned, some will prefer dark skinned. There are actually people who think Billy Ray Cyrus is hot.

why should the color of your skin determin if you look better or not? thats like a new form of discrimination and isnt that what all black people and most white are against? :/ how does tht work ? arnt we all just people

People are people. Don't ever let anybody else make you feel like they are better than you. The only thing that makes people good is their HEART. People need to work more on their character and personality and not just outside appearance.

I have an african friend and she is one of the prettiest people I know and she gets compliments all the time! And Shes pure african born and raised there. Gosh im so jealous of her!
